![]() Moreover, he was complaining about this "infection" (piercing sound in his ears), was thoroughly examined by FBC research staff and was found perfectly healthy. ![]() It was before (during) acquisition of Hedron/Polaris in that dimension and he had no protection from the Hiss resonance, no HRA, no "little seed" of Hedron/Polaris inside him, nothing. He was infected by Hiss almost two decades ago (during very 1st expedition into Fingers dimension through Slide Projector OoP). And entertaining "what if" scenario - in case if Alan Wake have been successfully recovered by FBC after Bright Falls AWE, he most likely would've been isolated in Panopticon as dangerous parautilitarian and experimented on, never seeing the light of day again.Ī little harsh, aren't we? You can't fully blame Trench for Hiss outbreak, really. Worth mentioning that FBC failed on several fronts, for instance - failed to obtain incredibly powerful Object of Power - the Clicker (it still presumably lies at the bottom of Cauldron Lake). It was regular AWE procedure - investigation, containment, covering up. Alan Wake's story is self-contained, FBC had interest in Wake (he is Prime Candidate 5 after all), but his life wasn't the reason FBC got involved in Bright Falls AWE. Based on what we see in AWE I think Alan will probably be in therapy for the rest of his life and I can't see civilian mental health services being able to fix what the Dark Place broke. The FBC isn't perfect, their treatment of Dylan is evidence enough of that, but they're the only ones in the world that are trained and equipped to give Alan the help he desperately needs. In AWE it's obvious that Alan's time in the Dark Place has had a dramatic effect on his mental health. Perhaps it's for the best, then, that Alan spend the restof his life in FBC custody. I honestly think he would be a danger to himself and others if he were allowed to rejoin modern society without a lot of intense therapy. I think the thing we need to keep in mind is that the Alan Wake we see in AWE isn't the same Alan Wake we see in his game(s) he's endured 10 years of ceaseless mental torture. Realistically I sincerely doubt Alan would ever breathe free air again. Even if Jesse has sympathy for Alan's plight and sees fit to ignore the damage he's done, she may decide to contain him on the basis that his knowledge of the paranatural can't be allowed to spread to the general population. Maybe after the Dark Presence isn't an active threat to reality Alan can petition for parole or something but he's inflicted a lot of damage. For all we know he might turn out to be a greater threat than Hartman ever was. Besides, we don't know what effects (if any) a decade of exposure to the Dark Place has had on Alan. If Hartman was dangerous enough that the FBC nabbed him and locked him up, I can't see them not doing the same with Alan. He's just too dangerous to be allowed to run free, at least until the FBC figures out how to seal the Cauldron Lake threshold. I have my own opinions regarding Alan's power and influence but I'm of a mind that, if Alan ever gets out, the FBC should grab him and lock him away in a containment cell indefinitely. TLDR: The FBC should detain Alan Wake if he ever gets free because he's done too much damage, knows too much about the paranatural to be allowed to roam free without consequence, and obviously needs professional mental health services that only the FBC is able to provide. LMAO op could very well be right! Alan did cause all this sh*t □ But I’m still on the fence for other explanations, guess we will find out in Alan Wake 2. Alan did once wrote something similar to FBC and even the hiss. ![]() Also Thomas Zane wrote about Alan first, does that mean Alan was created by Zane? Then the whole universe is just basically some people writing up something no? That makes no sense, like do other dimensions, the astral plane…etc also just come from some writing too? There has to be other explanations Alan cannot be responsible for everything or he would be essentially a god already!Įdit: Just read the Alan Wake wiki. As evidence, Thomas Zane cut corner trying to just write the Darkness defeated without proper logic and it backfired.īut I’m still quite confused about Alan writing up / creating FBC and Jesse into existence out of nowhere. Alan explained in his game that for a story to work it absolutely has to be logical, consistent, balanced or all that. ![]()
